Where to eat in the Hunter Valley

Well, how long is a piece of string? But in the interest of time and sanity we are keeping it short and sweet.

As we await the opening of Pescara on 12 November, we have compiled a list of some of our favourite local eateries, with a focus on Italian cuisine of course.

Italian favourites

eRemo Restaurant

Celebrating Italian cuisine with chef Michael Elfwing’s contemporary flair bringing the menu into the pantheon of modern day Australian culinary classics. eRemo is a local Italian favourite and located at Spicers Guesthouse, a quick 5 minute drive from your accommodation

Opening hours:
Lunch 12pm to 4pm and Dinner 6pm to 9pm, 7 days.

Bimbadgen Wood Fire Pizza

Relax in their Tuscan inspired courtyard with a glass of wine and take in the spectacular view from under the shade of our vine-covered pergola. Executive Chef Mark Marshall has created a menu featuring the classics and modern twists we know you will love.

To find Bimbadgen Wood Fire Pizza, take a quick 3 minute trip down McDonalds road towards The Vintage.

Monday to Thursday – 11am to 3:30pm
Friday & Saturday – 11am to 7.30pm

Baume Restaurant

Serving up an extensive menu of pizzas, Mediterranean style share plates, lavish mains designed to share and hand crafted desserts, Baume is a long standing favourite in the local region. An easy six minute drive, Baume is located at Ben Ean estate so be sure to pop in for a wine tasting as well!

Thursday to Monday – 11am to 4pm and 6pm to 9pm
Tuesday to Wednesday – 11am to 4pm

Something a little different (but still ultra close by)

Oishii

Conveniently located at Roche Estate, just three minutes drive from Hermitage Lodge, Oishii has become a favourite with locals and visitors for their delicious Japanese and Thai cuisine. Enjoy the beautiful terrace overlooking the vines and amphitheater as you indulge in a range of beautiful share dishes.

Oishii also offer takeaway, perfect for relaxing nights in after a long day of tasting at the wineries.

Monday to Wednesday – 11.30am to 3pm and 5.30pm to 9.30pm
Thursday to Sunday – 11.30am to 4pm and 5pm to 9.30pm

Goldfish

Award winning cocktail bar and renowned restaurant located at Roche Estate, Goldfish is an excellent option for long lunches, group dinners and late nights.

Whether you’re enjoying a meal with sprawling countryside views from their deck or live music and cocktails, their philosophy is simple, to provide a warm and fun environment no matter which end of the wine list you start at.

Tuesday to Thursday – 11.30am to 9.30pm
Friday and Saturday – 11.30am to late
Sunday – 11.30am to 9.30pm

EXP.

If you’re looking for something extra special on your next trip to the Hunter Valley (and you’re not too worried about cost) you can’t go past EXP. At EXP. Their focus is to create a dining experience that is delicious, entertaining and interactive. They offer a tasting menu that is centralised on flavour and aims to get shine a light on premium produce and wines from the Hunter region and around Australia. EXP. is a quick three minute drive from Hermitage Lodge.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday – 5:30pm to 9:00pm
