This is my 2nd stay in 18 months at Hermitage Lodge and it has maintained its exceptional service. Our suite was small with a separate lounge area but the wrap around porch gave it a sense of spaciousness. Very clean and well appointed kitchenette and bathroom. Dinner in our room last night was cooked from the lodge's restaurant and it was lovely. Helen from the front desk/customer service was most helpful, constantly asking if we needed anything. The view from our room overlooking the vineyard was picturesque especially at dawn and dusk. Will definitely stay here again.

We had an enjoyable time staying at the Hermitage Lodge. The spacious two story suite offered wonderful views of the vineyard. The amenities are first rate. Huge master bathroom with heated towel rail. Upper and lower patios with furniture. The stocked fridge was ample for a continental breakfast and the cooked to order hot breakfast is the best. It arrived exactly as ordered to the front door by the owner ~ on time. What more do you want? We appreciated the coffee machine with bean coffee to make everything just perfect. Don't miss the Italian restaurant on site. We so enjoyed eating there the first night, we returned again. We have dined in multiple first class restaurants around the world and were shocked at the wonderful service, fine dining options and standard of food. Unbelievable!!

My husband and I stayed to celebrate an anniversary and found lovely accommodation with a great restaurant.
The location is good. There are the plenty of wineries in short distance. Easy to drive around.
We booked a studio with vineyard views. Although it wasn't the best season to see grapes the view was pleasant. Nice and quiet. We enjoyed listening to birds singing while having a glass of wine on the rooms balcony.
The room was tidy and clean. I was so impressed because there were unexpected amenities such as make up remover, moisture cream and others. Very well presented too. Shower room wasn't completely separated so I needed to be careful not to wet the floor near the shower, no biggie at all.
Breakfast was already prepared in the fridge. It was simple but good enough. Good coffee and real orange juice. I assumed the yoghurt was hand made.
The restaurant was a lovely Italian restaurant. We enjoyed the meals, wine and staff service.
Overall, we loved it. We felt their hospitality spirit. We'll stay this accommodation again.
Stayed March 2016, travelled as a couple

My husband & I spent a fabulous 2 nights at the Hermitage Lodge as part of our recent honeymoon tour of NSW & Queensland. Excellent accommodation - we had a lodge with spa bath & verandah views on both sides of the lodge - one looking out over the beautiful vineyard. There was ample parking space and the room was very comfortable. Free Wifi was a bonus too!
We arrived on the Sunday late afternoon having driven up from Sydney and asked the front of house staff about booking onto a vineyard tour - they could not have been more helpful putting us in touch with Gary at The Vineyard Shuttle Service who phoned us back that evening persoanlly to organise picking us up at on the door step of the Lodge.
Breakfast was put into the fridge by room service and it was lovely to sit out on the verandah on both mornngs enjoying the tranquility. We had a wonderful meal at the Cacciatore Restaurant, the Award Winning restaurant on site at the Hermitage Lodge - it was great to put our wine tasting skills to the test with what was probably one of the best meals we experienced on our month long trip to Australia - well worth the expense! We would definitely recommend the Hermitage Lodge if you are looking for a romantic break.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a few nights. Frankly we didn't want to leave. We were in one of the suites (saddler's creek I think). For 2 people it was almost too big. Had a nice big living room, huge bathroom and a lovely balcony overlooking the vineyard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Wifi was available in the suite. The breakfast was placed in the fridge which made it nice and relaxed each morning to breakfast on the balcony in the morning sun. Recommended for a romantic few days.

Personal opinion 2 nights was not enough. I took my partner here to celebrate her birthday and it was amazing. We stayed in the "Wondallee Suite" both nights and were very surprised to get such a good quality suite at a discounted rate of $250/night. After reading many reviews, which is expected, if your wanting to make an occasion special. I'd found that there were only 2 negative reviews about the hermitage lodge (which were pathetic), they were mostly based on pricing. To all who are looking to travel to the Hunter Valley, i would highly recommend staying here, do yourselves a favor and spend the extra money on the Premier Suite because don't forget everything else is free (if your cheap, best go elsewhere). Fantastic staff, Mark and they lady who ran the kitchen that cooked our chips because we didn't know how to turn on the oven LOL (sorry I forgot your name), really appreciate it. Sarah and I, will definitely be back in March for our anniversary.

We stayed at the Hermitage Lodge for the Australia Day weekend and had an amazing time! We hadn't had a weekend break away in over 12 months so we appreciated the charm Hermitage had to offer. The owners/ operators were very welcoming and offered us advice on which wineries to visit (first time to the hunter) which was a great help for us newbies. The room was really lovely (we stayed in the first creek suite) with high ceilings and comfortable furnishings. The veranda at the back overlooking the Shiraz vineyard was a treat too. We can't wait to book to come back again as the only disappointment was having to leave to go home!
